CTO and Owner
Chris Turner has served as CTO of UbiCare since 2010, and purchased the company in 2020. Turner continues to lead all of UbiCare’s technical development efforts. Prior to joining UbiCare, he spent 15 years writing software/firmware and developing cutting-edge products with and for various start-up enterprises.
In 2001, Turner co-founded Granite Peak Technologies Inc., a two-person engineering firm focused on new product development. He has led numerous projects for clients and his work encompasses software, firmware and hardware development.
Prior to Granite Peak, Turner was Project Manager and Senior Engineer for NeuroMetrix, Inc., where he was the first engineer hired at this MIT-affiliated medical device startup. At NeuroMetrix, he developed an FDA-approved handheld, portable, electrodiagnostic instrument. He was also responsible for design, from concept through manufacturing and sale, of thousands of devices. He managed several other engineers and was responsible for analog design, high-voltage design, low-power design, firmware in C and assembly, PCB layout and oversight of contract manufacturers.
He holds a BS and a M.Eng in EECS from MIT and was a key member of the group that invented E Ink (used in Amazon.com's Kindle™).
